CHEMISTRY Mastery Goal:
This is my goal for this class: 100% of the students in Chemistry Honors will demonstrate mastery of chemistry concepts as measured(80%+) on each of their set assessments.
FCAT Goals:
80% of all tenth graders in Chemistry Honors will increase their DSS (developmental scale score) on the FCAT Reading and Math by at least 100 points as measured on the March 2010 FCAT Grade 10 Reading and Math tests.
THE CONCEPTS:
Semester 1 Foci: Scientific Methods, Foundations in Chemistry, Energy
Semester 2:
Quarter 3: Periodic Table and Trends, Electrons, Nuclear, Chemical Bonding, Chemical Formulas, Reaction Rates, Chemical Reactions.
Quarter 4: The Mole, Stoichiometry w/ Limiting and Excess Reactants, Acid/Base, Gases
